Support for your pregnancy, birth, and parenting journey
Pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are life-changing journeys. Our doulas are honored to walk alongside families, offering emotional, physical, and informational support so you feel informed, confident, and supported in your care experience.
ABOUT US
Helping Us Grow Doula Collective was created to help improve access to doula support for families in the Greater Lansing area.
Our collective was created in 2026 to address the urgent need for improved birth outcomes for Black and BIPOC birthing people in Ingham County, Eaton County, and Clinton County.
We are especially passionate about serving BIPOC families and helping parents advocate for themselves while feeling seen, heard, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
We are committed to improving health outcomes for families through personalized care, community-based support, advocacy, education, and culturally affirming, family-centered care.
WHAT IS A DOULA?
A doula is a trained professional who provides compassionate, non-medical support to expectant parents and their families throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
DOULAS OFFER GUIDANCE THAT GOES BEYOND PHYSICAL CARE
By nurturing the emotional, mental, and comforting aspects of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood. They provide education, encouragement, advocacy, and personalized care to help you feel empowered every step of the way.
Services for Parents
At Helping Us Grow Doula Collective, we provide compassionate, culturally responsive support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Our doulas are here to guide, educate, and empower you every step of the way.
Information on doula care and Medicaid-covered services is informed by guidance from DONA International and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
For Medicaid-covered clients, support may include up to 12 prenatal and postpartum visits and one labor support visit designed to help families feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout their journey.
Why Work With a Doula?
A doula helps you feel informed, confident, and supported throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. We are here to provide comfort, encouragement, and guidance so you can focus on welcoming your baby with confidence and care.
